EchoAnswers ("we," "us," or "our") operates the EchoAnswers AI voice receptionist platform. This policy describes how we handle information when you visit our website, contact us, or use our services as a business customer or as a caller to a business that uses EchoAnswers.
Information we collect
- Website visitors: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and information you send us by email.
- Business customers: account and contact details, business configuration (hours, routing rules, prompts), and usage and billing information.
- Callers to our customers: phone numbers, call audio and recordings, transcripts, call metadata (time, duration, outcome), and summaries generated to operate the receptionist service.
AI and recording disclosure
Our customers' receptionists are AI. At the start of each call, callers are told that they are speaking with an AI assistant and that the call may be recorded. Some jurisdictions require the consent of all parties to record a call; the start-of-call disclosure is how that notice and consent are provided. Business customers are responsible for ensuring this disclosure meets the requirements that apply to their callers.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the voice and chat receptionist service
- Route calls, deliver voicemail and call notifications, and generate call summaries for our business customers
- Process billing and respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations
- Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents
Sub-processors
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service, and caller and business information is shared with them only as needed to run it:
- Twilio — telephony (calls, recordings, SMS).
- xAI (Grok) — speech / voice and chat AI.
- Anthropic — AI call summaries.
- Resend — transactional email.
- Supabase — database and storage.
- Fly.io — application hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing.
No sale of data
We do not sell business or caller data.
Retention
We retain call audio, transcripts, and related metadata for as long as needed to provide the service to our business customers and as required by law, and typically delete or anonymize call recordings within 12 months unless a customer configures a different period or the law requires otherwise. Business customers may request deletion of their account data, subject to applicable law and short backup-retention windows.
Your choices
If you called a business using EchoAnswers and have a privacy request, contact that business first. You may also email us at hello@echoanswers.ai and we will assist or forward your request to the relevant business customer where appropriate.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), access controls on production systems, and separation of customer data in our multi-tenant architecture.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
